Ashes of Life is a Metroidvania game inspired by Amazonian indigenous culture. Arutani belongs to the Yarukani tribe and was raised as a warrior to help protect his people. Currently, his tribe is at war due to some shamans who have sown chaos to incite conflict. Some of these shamans have stolen the essence of the deceased from the Yarukani tribe, preventing their ashes from returning to the earth to generate shade (trees) and food. Arutani must embark on a journey to confront the echoes of his past (fears, traumas, pain, death, etc.) while the shamans, who are the cause of the chaos, try to cross his path to stop him and steal his essence.

(Note: we are aware this doesn't look like a game made in 4 weeks, we had a lot of roadblocks that were out of our control that prevented us from continuing this game as planned. We apologize for the incomplete state it is right now. Regardless, we are still sending as it is the game to get feedback of our progress so far: art, design, character control, and other things that were already made. Thank you for your time).
